The name Formento + Formento represents the artist duo, BJ and Richelle Formento. Richeille Formento styles and art directs, while BJ Formento lights and photographs. The images are a mutual portrait - an exchange in which the artist’s individualities blur, leaving traces on each other. Together the duo has an enthralling ability to absorb the spirit of a time and place, creating cinematic photographs, with a vision that references the past but remains contemporary and highly original. BJ Formento was born in Hawaii and grew up in the Philippines. After attending Academy of Arts University San Francisco, BJ moved to New York training his eye with esteemed photographers such as Richard Avedon, Duane Michals, MaryEllen Mark and Annie Leibovitz.London born Richeille Formento graduated with honors from Central St. Martins College of Art before working as an art director and designer. In 2005, BJ and Richeille met while working together in Miami. They admit to love at first sight, and were married in New York City three months later. - KIMBRA AUDREY
Kimbra Audrey is an American sustainable photographer who lives and works in Paris. After working as a model for nearly a decade, Kimbra became frustrated with the superficial images she constantly created of her in the fashion industry and working in an industry that was not at all aligned with her values. She has struggled with depression her entire life and began taking self-portraits as a cathartic way of creating images of how she viewed herself.
Kimbra shoots exclusively on film, which she develops and prints herself at home and does not retouch her images. She finds beauty in the natural imperfections that occur when filming a movie. Kimbra has been vegan for almost a decade and prides herself on living a sustainable, ethical and eco-friendly life. She works only with sustainable brands. Her work has been featured in Vogue Italia, i-D and W Magazine.
She was exhibited by NUE galerie in Valencia in June 2018 and in Paris at Fotofever art-fair in November 2018.
- THOMAS SING
‘To endure everything. To become nothing. To become everything’. Thomas Sing divides his time between Germany and Italy. A former professor at the University of Augsburg, his hometown, where he used to lecture on advertising, fashion and media, he left to pursue an active career in Photography.
His pictures have been published nationally and internationally in publications such as Vogue, L’Officiel, Madame, Qvest, F.A.Z. Magazin and Süddeutsche Zeitung. But his intellectual background was soon to haul him back in and to become the fundament of his artistic work. Today he explores the intersection of the mystic and the erotic experience through photography, writing and painting.
His photographs are taken on film, processed in the darkroom, covered in handwritten texts in weeks long working sessions. In 2013 and 2017 Thomas Sing won the Paris photography prize in the category Fine art and Book Fine art. Thomas Sing is the author of two books, 'Until I Break' (2017) and 'Hard Theory' (2020).
NUE galerie has exhibited his work on ‘How deep is your love’ show in Paris, in February 2020.

- TAMARA LICHTENSTEIN
Tamara Lichtenstein is an American-Bolivian film photographer and art director currently residing in Houston, Texas. She reveals through her work that her journey is a voyage from youth to womanhood. A master of the tableau vivant, at times the young American photographer’s work approaches a form of modern day poses plastiques albeit one presenting a more subtle version of sensuality and eroticism. Deceptively, Lichtenstein’s photographs conceal a deeper sociological dimension; one infused with a calculated psychological content. Friend, lover or muse become willing participants in the photographer’s mise-en-scène ; involved in a secret revolt, a silent refusal, a game played with life and reality. Lichtenstein’s work expertly captures a constant state of becoming. Tamara’s work was exposed at NUE galerie in Paris, in February 2020.
- JEAN MARC SANCHEZ
Jean Marc Sanchez is a film maker & photographer based in Paris. Through his work he tries to create an intimate universe, sometimes disturbing. Jean Marc Sanchez is the founder of NUE galerie.
